German Thanksgiving in Nakuru, 5th October, 2008

The LLK children celebrated the German Thanksgiving holiday with an abundance of food and visit from
German sponsors - who led the prayer before the wonderful meal began. We all have a good reason to be
thankful!

2004 / Europe-Festival in the castle of Hohenberg

2002 / "Hakuna WasiWasi Café": two months long Café Hatzel in Selb looked very different inside and outside, professionally decorated with handcrafts, carvings, printed colourful fabrics, photographs, - even changed the name of the Café.

2002 / Photo Exhibition with a tea bar in the mayors house in Selb: large photographs with themes from the Rhonda Slums, mainly children. Brique was reporting about her trip to Nakuru and serving tea from Kenya.

2002 / Exhibition in the Sparkasse Selb: a real eye-catcher: 365 square porcelain dishes (borrowed from Rosenthal), each filled with some brown beans, perfectly set up on a red carpet. On both ends of the carpet boards with photographs from our first visit in the Rhonda Slums of Nakuru.

2002 / African Night in the cinema of Selb: with the movie "Nowhere in Afrika" - completely sold out. Before and after the film a opportunity to find out about the LLK-projects in Kenya at our info-stand, exotic food and drinks and drumming for the senses.

2002 / Selber Kunstnacht (Night of Art), "1000 cranes": a whole cloud of these birds, folded by many assiduous hands, hanging from the ceiling of Clara Sikoras shop "Paper and Colour" von Clara Sikora. For a small donation one could take the birds home.

2001 / a lovely and scary Halloween-Fest inside the walls of an old porcelain factory in Selb, which is today the European Industrial Museum for Porcelain - for all those, who don't know it: it's worth a visit! This Halloween Party was our first public activity - even before the organisation "Live and Learn in Kenya" was officially founded.
